According to news report by ISNA , Ali Motahari who was speaking in a session in the college of social science at Tehran University said: One of the reason for the continuation of house arrest ( the house arrest of Mir Hossein Musavi former prime minister and presidential candidate 2009, his wife Zahra Rahnavard and Clergy and former house speaker Mehdi Karoubi another presidential candidate in 2009 ) is because of the fear among the society .

He added: President has a big role here because he is the executive of the constitution and the continuation of house arrest contradicts the laws .

This MP also said:  Sometimes the kind of approach with opposition are even more severe than the former regime.

He also mentioned that his father Morteza Motahari was sent to jail by former regime but when he was released he was able to continue to teach ( meaning during this current regime ,when someone goes to prison and when released, he can't go back to his job )
