Assadollah Lajvardi was Tehran prosecutor and the head of Iran prison's ( for 10 years) and his brother was the head of the prosecutor office in Tehran Mehrabad Airport . It was during his time when thousands of political prisoners in Evin prison were either hanged or sent to fire squad (1979 -1988) . Lajvardi himself later was killed by gunmen( 1998). Iranian oppositions believe regime killed him because of his vast knowledge about these killings.Lajvardi was member of the "Islamic Motalefeh party " a right wing radical Islamist group.
