Elham Afrutan's father : There is no news for the release of my daughter , I'm worried !
While it was said that Ms. Shadi Sadr has accepted the case of Ms. Elham Afrutan , but a little while ago news agencies quoting from Mr. Abdolsamad Khoramshahi as the lawyer of Elham Afrutan announced that her court hearing will take place on May the 9th. Aabout this changes i contacted to her family and lawyer , this time i spoke with Elham's father.
"Mohammad Afrutan" the father of Elaham in response to my question about her daughter's situation said: " I don't know what is the situation of my daughter's case , I only know that her lawyer have been changed " . Mr. Afrutan was also not aware of the change of lawyer: "I do not know the reason for this change , they only told me that the lawyer of Elham has been changed, they haven't told me anything else".
Elham's father have met her daughter when he came to Tehran for two weeks and each Tuesday she has right for visitation . Her father said that she is fine and she always keeps in touch .
Her lawyer Mr. Khoramshahi said that : She is a young lady who has interest to writing on social problems and satyre and its now two years that she has started working as journalist, aside from this , i think she diden't have had any ill-intention to about including the article in the newspaper and it was because she did not pay attention to the article. Elham believes that so far she did not enterd into the political area .
Elham became happy when she heard that Ms. Shadi Sadr is going to defend her , now the change of the lawyer seems odd. And an informed source have said that , they have scared Elham for accepting Shadi Sadr as her lawyer and told her that with her , her case might become more complicated , therefore she prefered to ask Khoramshahi to be her lawyer.
It is needed to say that : Ms. Elham Afrutan is an editorial staff of the " Tamadon Hormozgan" newspaper . She and her colleague Mr. Mohsen Dorostkar are going to have their trial on May the 9th, 2006 in division number 26 of the court of revolution.She is accused of " action against national security" and insult to the founder of Islamic Republic and other officials.
