Iran Rejects U.N. Decision to Appoint Human Rights Monitor
A spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry said Friday the decision is “unjust, unjustifiable, and totally political.” He said the move is meant to divert attention from human rights violations in the West, particularly in the United States.
The Geneva-based U.N. Human Rights Council approved the resolution Thursday with 22 votes in favor, seven against and 14 abstentions. Four of the 47 member-nations did not vote.
The council expressed concern over Iran's crackdown on opposition figures, its increased use of the death penalty and other abuses.
Iran is not a member of the council and has not admitted international human rights experts into the country for at least a decade.
In Washington, White House National Security Adviser Tom Donilon welcomed the decision as “a historic milestone that reaffirms the global consensus and alarm about the dismal state of human rights in Iran.”
The U.N. Human Rights Council was established in 2006 as a successor to the widely criticized U.N. Commission on Human Rights. The United States became a member in 2009.

Islamic Solidarity Disappears As U.N. Human Rights Council Appoints Investigator for Iran
The Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) bloc and its allies, which dominate the council, oppose country-specific mandates on principle, except for the case of Israel. The OIC-backed mandate of special rapporteur for the Palestinian territories, currently held by controversial international law scholar Richard Falk, was created in 1993 and is set to run “until the end of the Israeli occupation.”
The resolution passed by a vote of 22-7, with 14 abstentions.
(Of the remaining three OIC members, Qatar did not vote, Libya’s membership has been suspended, and Kyrgyzstan is temporarily disqualified from voting because it has not paid its U.N. dues for two years.)
Apart from the three Islamic states, the other “no” votes came from China, Cuba, Russia and Ecuador.
China’s envoy said his government believed human rights issues should be dealt with through dialogue, not pressure; Cuba’s delegate said the resolution may be a pretext for military action against Iran.
“As you know, country-specific actions by the council have generated a lot of resistance in the past,” she told reporters after the session. “Today we’ve seen the council able to respond to a chronic, severe human rights violator which is Iran, and we’re very pleased with this development.”
Pointing to other recent developments like the HRC’s vote to suspend Libya, Donahoe said the month-long council session ending on Friday had seen “a significant shift.”
“That is what this council is here to do – to deal with crisis situations [like Libya] and deal with chronic, severe situations [like Iran],” she added. “So the fact that we have had results in these areas makes this an important day for the council.”
In a statement issued in Washington, national security advisor Tom Donilon called the decision “a historic milestone that reaffirms the global consensus and alarm about the dismal state of human rights in Iran.”
‘Destructive U.S. role’
The HRC has four other special rapporteurs, but all were established by its predecessor, the U.N. Commission on Human Rights (UNCHR). They are rapporteurs for Burma (set up in 1992), the Palestinian territories (1993), Cambodia (1993), and North Korea (2004). In 2007, the HRC voted to end the mandate of the special rapporteurs for Cuba and Belarus.
Pakistan’s Ambassador Zamir Akram said Thursday that on principle, the OIC does not support country-specific mandates as they are “counterproductive.”
Iran is not a member of the council, but speaking as a representative of a concerned country ahead of the vote Iranian envoy Mohammad Reza Sajjadi said the HRC must avoid politicization and double standards, calling for a no vote.
He also complained about the “destructive” role of the U.S. in driving the initiative, saying U.S. membership had stopped the council from functioning effectively.
Sajjadi said the U.S. role in the council’s predecessor, the UNCHR, had prompted the international community to suspend its membership of that body.
(In 2001, the U.S. lost its seat on the UNCHR for the following year for the first time in the body’s half-century history, when three seats earmarked for Western nations went to France, Austria and Sweden.
Voting was by secret ballot, but observers attributed the defeat to countries hostile to the U.S. as well as liberal European countries upset with the Bush administration’s positions on issues like the International Criminal Court and the Kyoto Protocol.)
In another vote on Thursday, the HRC extended for one year the mandate of the special rapporteur for North Korea. The vote was 30-3, with 11 abstentions. China, Cuba and Russia voted no.

U.N. human rights body approves investigator on Iran
GENEVA (Reuters) -The U.N. Human Rights Council established a special investigator on Iran Thursday, a move spearheaded by Washington that will subject Tehran's record to U.N. scrutiny for the first time in nearly a decade.
Activists welcomed the move as historic, underlining the need for a focused investigation into widespread allegations of abuse, including arrests of political opponents and torture.
The 47-member forum, overcoming Iran's objections to a resolution brought by Sweden and the United States, approved it by 22 votes in favor, 7 against and 14 abstentions.
"What we've just witnessed is a real seminal moment for this body with the establishment of a special rapporteur on the human rights situation in Iran," U.S. Ambassador Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe told reporters.
"Today we've seen the Council able to respond to a chronic, severe human rights violator, which is Iran," she said.
The lack of an investigator on Iran had been a "glaring omission" at the Council, which has rapporteurs for countries with poor records including North Korea and Myanmar, she added.
This is the first special rapporteur on a specific country that the U.N. Human Rights Council has set up since its creation nearly five years ago.
Britain, France and the United States were among those approving, joined by Brazil for the first time in years. China and Russia were among those rejecting the text.
In Washington, Tom Donilon, President Barack Obama's National Security Adviser, said the appointment reaffirmed "the global consensus and alarm about the dismal state of human rights in Iran."
The Human Rights Council voiced concern at Iran's crackdown on opposition figures and increased use of the death penalty, and called on the Islamic Republic to cooperate with the U.N. envoy to be named to the independent post.
POOR TRACK RECORD
U.N. officials and diplomats say Iran has not allowed U.N. human rights experts to visit since 2005, when hard-liner Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was elected president, defeating the relatively moderate Mohammad Khatami.
Even if the new rapporteur is not allowed into Iran, he would still be expected to contact the government frequently about allegations and produce an annual report incorporating testimony from activists and alleged victims of abuse.
U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon said this month Iran had intensified its crackdown on opponents and executions of drug traffickers, political prisoners and juvenile criminals.
In a report, he also cited cases of amputations, floggings and the continued sentencing of men and women to death by stoning for alleged adultery.
Iran's ambassador, Seyed Mohammad Sajjadi, had called for the resolution's rejection, saying Tehran was committed to upholding human rights but believed in "self-monitoring."
He accused the United States of being "the main organizer of this campaign" and said Washington's membership in the council had proved to be a "great setback."
Pakistan's ambassador, Zamir Akram, speaking on behalf of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, which links Muslim countries, said: "As a matter of principle, the OIC does not support country mandates, which we believe politicize the debate and are in fact counter-productive."
But the Baha'i religious minority, which had seven leaders in Iran sentenced to prison last year for alleged espionage after a trial it said was unfair, welcomed the vote as historic.
The now defunct U.N. Human Rights Commission had special rapporteurs on Iran from 1984 to 2002.(Additional reporting by Patricia Zengerle in Washington; Editing by Elizabeth Fullerton)

killing of Syrian people by Bashar Al Asad's criminal regime ! This film is very graphic. Crime against humanity . UN must intervene ....
Nourooz gathering organized by Ahmadinejad is a political game & leaders of Tajikestan,Iraq,Afghanistan,Turkmanestan and Armania must boycotte it!
Khamenei-Ahmadinejad regime always followed a destructive policy against Nourooz celebration. It does not beleive in it and following an opportunistic policy this time.
It was reported by ILNA news agency that presidents of five countries and few high ranking officials will attened in a Nourooz program organized by the office of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the illegitimate president of Iran from March 27 to April first.
According to news presidents of Turkmanestan, Iraq, Armania , Tajikestan and Afghanistan are going to participate in Nourooz programe organized by Ahmadinejad the coup president.
Other delegates are from Qatar (Prince) Azarbayejan (an official), Kyrgyzestan ( Prime Minister) and Oman ( Foreign Minister).
Why you should not attened ?
-Because Ahmadinejad is Illegitimate president of Iran installed by Khamenei .
-Because of repeated violation of human rights and oppression on peaceful Iranian people.
-because of ill treatment of religious minorities in Iran including Suni religion.
-Because of disastrous international policy against Iran and elsewhere in the world.
-Because ahmadinejad and his government including Khamenei and Islamic regime not truly beleiving in Nourooz.
- Because internationally Khamenei-Ahmadinejad regime is isolated.
And because of so many other reason you should not attened Nourooz programe organized by Ahmadinejad and Khamenei.
I call people of all these countries to protest if their leaders atteneded in nourooz programe organized by Khamenei-Ahmadinejad .

Peoples power vs dictators, this is Syrian people vs Bashar Asad's decades of corrupt system .
The Foreign Affairs Council of the EU has announced that the EU will seek swiftly to introduce sanctions against individuals responsible for human rights violations in Iran.
Foreign Secretary, William Hague said:
“I welcome this step that sends a clear message to the violators of human rights in Iran that the EU will not tolerate impunity for these abuses. These measures are designed to support the Iranian people in claiming the rights they have long been denied and to which they, like others in the region, aspire.
“This is an important and concrete part of the international response to the serious and deteriorating human rights situation. Iran has executed over 160 people this year, keeps more journalists in prison than any other country, has brutally suppressed recent protests arresting hundreds, and continues to keep key opposition leaders under house arrest and incommunicado. And all the while it claims to support freedom elsewhere in the region.”

Happy New Year to all Persian(Iranian)everywhere.
Noruz has been celebrated for at least 3,000 years and is deeply rooted in the rituals and traditions of the Zoroastrian religion.
Typically, on the first day of Noruz, family members gather around the table, with the Haft Seen on the table or set next to it, and await the exact moment of the arrival of the spring. At that time gifts are exchanged. Later in the day, on the very first day, the first house visits are paid to the most senior family members.

IRAN WATCH CANADA: What an inhuman regime !? Sorrow as jailed Baha'i leader is unable to attend wife's funeral
81 year old Mrs. Ashraf Khanjani – who was married to Mr. Jamaloddin Khanjani for more than 50 years – died yesterday morning at the family home in Tehran. She had been unwell for many months.
Mr. Khanjani, 77, is serving a ten-year jail term at Iran's notorious Gohardasht prison, along with six other Baha'is who were all members of a national-level ad hoc group that attended to the needs of Iran's Baha'i community.
"This is a desperately cruel turn of events," said Diane Ala'i, representative of the Baha'i International Community to the United Nations in Geneva.
"For an innocent man to be denied the opportunity to be with his devoted wife as she passed away, and then to be unable to attend her funeral – this shows the depth of inhumanity to which the Iranian authorities have sunk," said Ms. Ala'i.
"Islamic compassion and justice are nowhere to be seen," she said.
It is understood that the funeral of Mrs. Khanjani, held early today in Tehran, attracted between 8,000 and 10,000 mourners from all walks of life. Ministry of Intelligence officers were also reportedly present, filming the proceedings.
Mrs. Khanjani had devoted her life to raising her four children as well as caring for others whose parents were unable to feed and clothe them.
"She was looking after up to 40 or 50 children at any one time, without any regard for their religious background," said Ms. Alai. "This is the kind of person she was – kind and generous, and a beacon of hope dedicated to maintaining the unity of their family in the face of harsh religious persecution."

UN Secretary General Report Shows Need for Special Human Rights Monitor
15 March 2011) The release of a report by the UN Secretary- General, Ban Ki-moon, on the human rights situation in Iran should encourage the UN Human Rights Council to establish a special monitoring and reporting mechanism, the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran said today.
“The message of this report is clear, it is time for the Human Rights Council to deal with the dramatically deteriorating situation in Iran by establishing a monitoring mechanism during its current session,” stated Aaron Rhodes, a spokesperson for the Campaign.
The 14 March 2011 “Interim Report of the Secretary- General on the Situation of Human Rights in Iran,” which was mandated by General Assembly Resolution 65/226, documents Iran’s grave and deteriorating human rights situation.
The report notes: “The Secretary-General underscores the valuable contribution special procedures mandates can make to monitoring and reporting on the human rights situation in Iran, as well as facilitating technical assistance in relevant areas.”
The International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran appealed to all members of the Human Rights Council to follow the Secretary- General’s evaluation and implement a special mechanism, which will allow the United Nations to gather more information on an ongoing basis and be in a better position to assist the Iranian people, as well as, to press the government to cooperate to improve their human rights.
The report focused on the failure of Iranian authorities to cooperate with UN special mechanisms. No thematic Special Rapporteur has been allowed to visit the country since 2005, despite a “standing invitation” by Iran. What is more, the report noted a “low rate of reply” to urgent communications by Special Rapporteurs about massive numbers of reports of major human rights violations in Iran they have received.
The report included what it termed a “dramatic surge” in executions. Many executions follow convictions for Moharebeh, or “enmity against God,” and for drug-related crimes. According to the report, “Despite a growing acknowledgment by some Iranian authorities, that the death penalty may not be an effective deterrent to drug crime, the judiciary has continued to stress in public the need for tough punishments.”
The Secretary General’s report also documented widespread torture, amputations and floggings; the lack of due process in Iran’s courts; the persecution of human rights defenders and political opposition figures; laws permitting juvenile executions; and legal discrimination against women, concluding that major legal reforms would be needed to bring Iran into compliance with its human rights treaty obligations.
Since August 2010, the Campaign has documented mass, secret executions, mainly of alleged drug-traffickers, which have driven the execution rate to record highs. Iran executed at least 542 persons in 2010, as compared to 94 in 2005 when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad assumed power. Around 150 have been executed already in 2011, or one approximately every eight hours.
“Failure to act on Iran now would be a repudiation of the entire United Nations human rights system and threaten a positive trend in the Middle East,” Rhodes said. “Council members have an opportunity to rise above regional politics and to show the Council can effectively promote human rights.”

Hariri and returning to his roots
Tariq Alhomayed
I have never seen as clear or as frank a speech by former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri as the speech he gave last week. In this speech, Hariri took a step closer to all the people of Lebanon, announcing clear positions on the international tribunal investigating the death of the martyr Rafiq Haririr, the issue of arms, and Lebanese unity. In this speech, Hariri truly returned to his political roots, the roots of his cause, and the cause of all Lebanese.
In his last speech, Hariri clearly stated, and in a manner far removed from the clever ideas of those seeking political power in Lebanon, or Syria's disciples [in the country], that ""I entered political life after the assassination of my father on 14 February, and since then I began national life on 14 March 2005, marching with you, and with all the people of Lebanon. These are my roots, and I will not renounce them."
These truly are Saad Hariri's [political] roots, and it can be said that his political birth occurred on the day that his father was assassinated, as well as the day that he went out to fight for Lebanon's right to democracy and justice, rather than a sectarian Lebanon that is ruled from abroad. If Saad Hariri had forgotten this fact then this would have been his political end.
However, despite this, Hariri accepted the Saudi efforts, or what was known as the "S – S initiative" for two reasons that he asserted over and over again, and they are; his complete confidence in King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz's love for Lebanon and his dedication to Arab unity. Secondly, Hariri always said "I do not want revenge, but for justice to emerge from Lebanon, out of the game of assassination and intimidation." The importance of Hariri's speech is that this was not ambiguous, but rather he very clear and explicit. Hariri was [also] completely correct to start his speech against the backdrop of the "S – S initiative" saying "I committed myself to silence regarding the 'S – S initiative' because those who want to succeed don't leak [to the media] or issue statements, but work [in this regard]."
This is true, for all the leaks that came out were either from Damascus or the Beirut suburbs [i.e. Hezbollah]. Media sources are well-known, and there is no secret over this, for the media would say that "the Syrian official said…" or "the Syrian official confirmed…" without any official confirmation or denial coming from Syria about such leaks. Therefore Hariri has done very well to explicitly inform all Lebanese about what was going on [during this period] as well as his opinions of this. This is no less important than the statement issued by the Saudi Foreign Minister in which he announced that his country was washing its hands of mediation in Lebanon. This was not because Saudi Arabia was abandoning the country, but rather in order to allow the public to clearly see which Lebanese figures wanted the best for Lebanon, and which wanted to transform the country into an Iranian province.
If Hariri had not returned to his true political roots – the death of his father and 14 March [2005] which ultimately led to the Syrian army withdrawing from Lebanon – then Lebanon as a whole would have been lost, not just its leadership. The fear today for Lebanon the state is greater than our concern for its leadership. This is what Hariri's speech clarified. Therefore, his most recent speech will be very important for Lebanon, this is because – according to the Taif Agreement – there can be no leniency with regards to justice, no concession on the issue of arms, and no negligence with regards to Lebanese unity.
These are the roots that it is up to everybody, not just Hariri, to return and commit to, for the sake of Lebanon that must not find itself under the authority of the Wali Al Faqih, or under the guardianship of any neighbor, but rather under the umbrella of its own parliament and constitution.

People in Yemen continue their protest against dictatorship, for freedom & economic welfare of all yemenes. They dont want dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh
| | | |Government in Shadow !? The secret Government !? The main obstacle against democracy and Reformist- civil society Green movement !
The green movement must reorganize itself . It should clearly rewrite its agenda and its vision and mission. It should focus on rebuilding its strength by expanding its social networking to wider range of socio-economic-cultural or political groups.
Green movement and reformists as well as other opposition groups in Iran are not facing just the government of Ahmadinejad , they are infact facing forces that are more demon. I mean the opposition in Iran are facing two real challenges one is the Ahmadinejad coup government and the other is the Government in Shadow or the secret government . The secret government is dedicated -fundamentalists or hard core fundamentalists . This secret government does not believe at all on people or election or parliament to run the country. One such theoretician is Mohammad Taghi Mesbah Yazdi, who openly speaks about : "Who are the people to elect president , it is only God who should select and instal the president.". Same words also came from the mouth of Richard Nixon the contraversial watergate US president who told once about Chile that: "Even if the people of chile elect president i won't accept it".
This secret Government in Iran has aboundance of resources on economic ,technology as well as people.
Therefore reformists -Green movement and other Iranian opposition groups in Iran are facing more complex forces and to push them back , to corner or to defeat them ,they must build more strength .
"It is the story of mosquito or bees facing the spider web , for going through you must be strong."
Or based on a poem:
"When an ant fell into the anthil (copper bowl)- To get free ( to get out) ,it must find a way , not just use force "

Why western countries shuldn't close their Eyes when it comes to Saudi Arabia ! Women's rights violation is barbaric....
Plain cloth Security Agents arrested one protester- Western countries must pay more attention to violation of Human Rights ,Not oil in Saudi Arabia
Protest reach in Saudi arabia, protesters want the release of Sheikh Tawfeeq Amer after Friday prayer . Saudi Arabia need political culture change -
Ahmadinejad has announced he will Celeberate Nourooz (The Persian New Year-March 20th )with world leaders !?
World leaders should boycott this for extensive human rights violation by Ahmadinejad and his Government!
He has sent invitation for 12 kings including King Abdullah of Jordan.
Iranian people are organizing for their ongoing protest against Ahmadinejad and his Goverment in this coming Persian New Year.
World leader needed to know that ,people in Iran know Ahmadinejad as not their legitimate president. He was installed by a coup d' etat by Khamenei- 'Sepah" (national guard )in last presidential election against Musavi who was believed wining the election. He is known as lier , he looks straight into your eyes and tell lies. He is known as the most fundamentalist Islamist like Taleban regime in Afghanistan and he is follower of such "Ayatollahs"!? as Mohammad Taghi Mesbah Yazdi , Janati, Mohammad Yazdi, Ahmad Khatami, Hossain Taeb, Naghadi, Said Mortazavi, Rohollah Hosainian , Hossain Shariatmadari and so many other radical fundamentalist moslem who believe Islamic Republic must run by God and his representative Imam Khamenei and not people of Iran. He does not have a good past , people believe he was torturer in Evin prison and some beleive his hands are covered with opposition's blood.
There are so many other reason that the world leaders must consider before accepting Ahmadinejads invitation coming to Nourooz Celebration.
Say NO to Ahmadinejads Invitation. This is definitely a political gesture. He may be successful inviting a few moslem countries leader by deceiving them or ..... But even the moslem country leaders must say No to his invitation for reason of killing hundereds of Iranian peaceful protesters for the last two and a half years .
Ahmadinejad and his deputy Mr. Mashaei are trying to buy credit among world leaders which they have lost since the presidential coup and people uprising, they need this to get their government and the Islamic Republic out of isolation in the world.

How was Tehran on March 8 !
From the website of "Where is my vote" .
Mohseni Square and Mirdamad Street were full of seurity and plain cloths forces in a way that, pedestrians haven't seen this much forces in their entire life.
According to "Where is my vote " reporter ; presence of motorcycle riding militia , police forces,anti-rioting guards and Basij militia on foot were so many .
Hundereds of protesters have gathered in and around Shariati Street . Despite of all its uniform and plain cloths security ,regime also sent its plain cloths women and men informers among pedestrian who were planning to protest. And sometimes these plain cloths informers or agents would also start chanting anti regime slogan to motivate the people and then arrest them.
Vanak Square also had the same situation full of anti-rioting forces and plain cloth securities. When a group of protesters started chanting anti government slogan , confronted with teargas. Most of the business in this area were closed.
There were also widespread security forces in other streets such as Valiasr, Enghelab,Sadeqieh, Poonak and Fatemi Square. But the presence of these forces were much more in "Madar" (Mother ) Square formerly the Mohseni Square and Enqelab or Revolution Square and "Kargar" street . protesters have gathered and chanted anti dictatorship slogan but faced teargas and clashes with the anti-rioting guards and many protesters have been arrested.
I dont know how long Islamic Republic regime can go like this. The economic situation is a mess in Iran and workers strike are pulling more people into protest against the regime and division among regime officials moving to new position.

The riskiest job in Iran!
By Shirin Ebadi
Monday 7 March 2011
Not so long ago, my colleague Nasrin Sotoudeh was the lawyer so many of us human rights defenders in Iran would call when our government harassed us or put one of us, or one of our family members, in jail. Sadly it is now Nasrin who is in jail. The government's accusations against her include acting contrary to "national security", "propaganda against the state", and "membership" of the Defenders of Human Rights Centre, an organisation I founded in 2001. The government has also accused her of failing to wear hijab, the traditional Islamic covering for women. On some of these trumped-up charges she has been sentenced to 11 years in jail, and is now banned from practising law for 20 years.
This courageous 45-year-old mother of two young children is one of many in Iran who are targeted – and punished – for speaking up for the rights of others. Women are all too frequently on the receiving end of the Iranian regime's wrath – as we know from the case of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, sentenced to be stoned to death for allegedly committing adultery. But what makes Nasrin's case especially poignant is that it raises a fundamental question about Iran's future. If the people who come to the defence of people whose human rights are violated cannot do their jobs, who will ensure that such values as equality and justice are upheld in Iran?
Iranian authorities arrested Nasrin at Tehran's notorious Evin prison last September, during a visit to a client who is a political prisoner. Since then Nasrin has spent most of her time in solitary confinement. To protest against her illegal arrest, Nasrin has gone on several hunger strikes. Iranian officials have denied her access to a lawyer, and for the first month she was not allowed to talk to her family, even on the phone. At one point authorities detained her husband for speaking publicly about his wife's case.
Why is the Iranian government so afraid of Nasrin Sotoudeh? It is clearly frustrated that an Iranian woman's work is shining a light on the deplorable human rights situation in Iran. Nasrin is fearless in taking on cases that other lawyers carefully avoid, and for that she has earned respect around the globe. She took on the case of Zahra Bahrami, a Dutch-Iranian who was arrested for participating in post-election demonstrations in 2009. Zahra was denied her right to an appeal and, despite the intervention of Dutch authorities and a call by the European Union not to go ahead, she was executed without warning on 29 January.
Nasrin was my lawyer in a complaint I filed against Kayhan, a conservative newspaper, and she also defended me when Iranian authorities seized my assets in 2009. Nasrin has also taken on cases involving juvenile executions – Iran is one of the few countries in the world that still puts children to death. Nasrin's case, among others, is making Iran's failure to uphold basic human rights increasingly obvious. This is why some countries are pushing for a United Nations human rights council resolution on Iran, with a special rapporteur to carry out investigations into human rights abuses there. Such a push is encouraging, but it will still take a few more countries to reach a majority within the council.
Before her arrest the authorities summoned Nasrin to the tax office and froze her assets. While she was there she realised that the government was carrying out similar "investigations" of at least 30 other lawyers. If Iran is jailing its human rights defenders we need to step up efforts to ensure that justice is upheld there. Such concrete international action would be, in my mind, the best way to honour my colleague Nasrin.

People are angry from the entire system ,they openly show their anger by insulting the parliamentary speaker Mr. Ali Larijani , Khamenei and other officials in the Government with obscene words in the street , in Metro's and in market places. In the past people wouldn't use obscene words before women but now it seems their anger is way surpass their shyness and modesty.

2-After Feb. 14 and Feb.20 protest by the green movement which once again surprised the regime officials, and since the regime officials were announcing green movement was dead, and in retaliation ,the security agents including Vahid Haghanian the deputy executive from Khamenei's office personally attended at Musavi and Karoubi's home and arrested the green movement leaders together with their wives and transfered them to Heshmatieh barracks. This news angered Iranian people in the green movement and in reaction to their arrest the "Coordinating Council for the green path of hope" called for a searies of protest on every Tuesdays until the end of Persian calendar new year on March 20.

Next protest date:Tuesday March 8-Shirin Ebadi:"For equal rights,we will come to the streets"-Will Iranian women protest by the thousands on March 8?
The four opponents of the government had been confined in their homes under an illegal “house arrest,” with no arrest warrant, summons or charge, since before 14 February, when they called for public demonstrations in solidarity with Egyptian and Tunisian pro-democracy activists.
“The four prominent people have been disappeared; they are being held incommunicado in an unknown location, a severe breach of Iranian and international law,” stated Aaron Rhodes, a spokesperson for the Campaign.
“Given the lynch mob-like calls for their execution by numerous Iranian politicians and clerics, there is reason to be deeply concerned for their safety and well being,” he said.
An informed source told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran that the four political dissidents are no longer under “house arrest” and have been moved to a “safe house” in an area close to Tehran. He added that their detention location is not a prison.
A “safe house” is considered a place for the secret detention of high security- value detainees, which is not under the control of the Judiciary or any other monitoring mechanisms. The Revolutionary Guards and Iranian intelligence agencies are well-known for using safe houses for all methods and techniques to get confessions from detainees without scrutiny or pressure from other legal bodies. Given the use of so-called safe houses to mistreat opponents of the government in the past, the Campaign finds it deeply disturbing that the four opposition figures have reportedly been removed to such a facility.
One of Mehdi Karroubi’s neighbors told the Campaign that there are no security forces present on Karroubi’s street any longer. “I am certain that they are no longer inside their home. All the windows are broken and nobody is home,” his neighbor said.
An eye witness in Tehran’s Pastor neighborhood, where Mir Hossein Mousavi and his wife Zahra Rahnavard live, also told the Campaign that no comings or goings into the house on Akhtar Alley had been observed. Iron bars were installed on the alley leading to the couple’s home last week, barring any traffic into and out of their property.
No official source has yet assumed responsibility for the abduction of the four reformist figures. Some reports received by the Campaign indicate that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which led the brutal crackdown on citizens protesting the tainted 2009 presidential election, is responsible for holding them in a secret location.
“Their enforced disappearance and removal to a secret place of shows the inability of the Iranian Judiciary to protect the rights of citizens from abuse by security agencies,” Rhodes said.
The Campaign believes that with the attention of the international community focused on events in Libya, Iranian authorities have moved to neutralize the opposition leaders as the people of Iran have again massively raised their voices against human rights violations by the government. While demonstrations on 14 and 20 February were met with violent repression resulting in at least three deaths, new demonstrations have been announced for the coming three Tuesdays.
The Islamic Republic endorsed a 25 February statement by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which demanded an end to violence against Libyan civilians and human rights violations there, and noted, “The world is witnessing far-reaching developments in a number of OIC countries at present. It is a time of awakening; a time for reckoning. Muslims will no longer be denied their rights.”
“All members of the OIC and of the wider international community need to think of the fate of Zahra Rahnevard, Fatemeh Karroubi, Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, and to demand accountability for their legal treatment and safety from the Iranian government,” Rhodes said.
Note: This article was updated on 27 February 2011, to reflect the active role of Zahra Rahnevard and Fatemeh Karroubi as opposition figures.
